I watched these as a kid and never got over them. They influenced a zillion kids my age to try athletics. After returning from my army stint I saw Jock Mahoney at one of the big amusement parks and it was one of the best home comings I could ask for. He was dressed as Yancy Derringer, a role I never saw because of school or military service but it was a kick to talk to him. I sent away for the seasonal dvd's and it's terrific seeing how well done they were. They stand head and shoulders above most western movies or series in production and casting.
