Marcus Welby, M.D. TV Series

Marcus Welby, M.D.

Marcus Welby, M.D. was one of the most popular doctor show US television, a medical drama series created by David Victor about Dr. Marcus Welby, a general family doctor practitioner in his unorthodox way of treating patients. Dr. Welby has a young doctor assistant and partner, Dr. Steven Kiley who is directly opposite to Dr. Welby's way of treating his patients, in his radical, strait-laced method, they were both working part-time in Lang Memorial Hospital.

The show focused on two doctor's directly reverse manners towards patients but they intelligently handled many kinds of common and uncommon medical cases such as brain damage, venereal disease, epilepsy, breast cancer, leukemia, painkiller addiction, depression and many others. The doctors were assisted by loyal secretary Consuelo Lopez and also with Kathleen Faverty, another secretary. On personal part of the doctors, Myra Sherwood was Dr. Welby's girlfriend, his daughter Sandy with her son Phil while Janet Blake was Dr. Kiley's wife working as public relations director.

The series completed 169 60-minute episodes for total of 7 seasons aired from September 1969 to July 1976, now available on DVD.
